Far exceeding the many albums he has played keys on, Sandile Mgcina is a well-known and respected songwriter in South Africa and abroad. An “underdog” is what we can call him because although he always hides from the spotlight, the caliber of his work brings the spotlight to him.

 

Born and bred in Katlehong, Sandile was raised by a single parent- a father who groomed the gentleman in him who not-so-long-ago became Mbali Nyandeni’s husband.

 

His love for playing the piano and song writing started at a young age and through various mentors and studies, he made it to the music industry as a professional musician. His portfolio includes both gospel and circular music, which makes him versatile.
